I am a small girl with a large (34D) chest, so I started with the M/L. The straps were so loose that they wouldn't stay up. I returned for the smaller size. You tie it in the back, so I think I would say this runs large. I actually ended up returning the smaller one, too. The fabric is nice and thick, much to my surprise! I did love that part of it. It just didn't give me any kind of wow factor.
